What Does a Body Corporate Committee Do?

A Body Corporate Committee is responsible for the day-to-day management of a strata community. Elected annually at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), the committee makes important decisions property upkeep, financial management, and governance.

Committee Structure

A committee must have at least three voting members and no more than seven, consisting of:

• Chairperson (Executive Member) – Can also hold other executive roles.
• Secretary (Executive Member) – Manages records and correspondence.
• Treasurer (Executive Member) – Handles financial matters.
• Ordinary Members – General voting members of the committee.
• Non-Voting Members – Resident Unit Managers (RUMs) and Body Corporate Managers (BCMs), automatically elected when engaged.
